SB 221 Update

As an organization, we are having ever increasing concerns about whether SB 221, as it currently exists, would actuallydo more harm than good.  The bill sets forth price floors forelectricity while doing little do address future increases. If anything,the renewable initiative within the bill willlikely further add upward mobility to future electricprices.

While we are encourage by the spirit behind the legislation,we feel the bill needs some important changes before thehouse should consider passage.

FirstEnergy hired lobbyist Ted Olson of Bush v. Gore fame. No doubt this is FirstEnergy positioning itself for what will likely prove to be a contentious battle in the Ohio House. <see story>
