FirstEnergy Auction Produces Low Price

FirstEnergy is set to have an auction for its generation on May 13. Those customers in FirstEnergy territory who do not secure generation for a third-party supplied will be forced to pay the resulting Standard Service Offer (SS0) that comes out of the auction.

Historically, these auctions to determine SSOs have produce very high prices relative to other available options. It is highly recommended that all businesses work to have alternative generation pricing set in place by June 1.
